Cattle Saving Programme |
The Foundation’s cattle saving programme promotes the
Buddhist virtues of non-killing and compassion for all living beings. Over the
years, the Foundation has saved more than 1000 cows from the butcher’s knives,
thanks to the generosity of many animal lovers. The Foundation buys cows from
the slaughterhouses and gives them to selected families who undertake
to look after them well and not to sell the animals. In return, the
families can get milk from the cows and use them in the fields. The Foundation
carries out regular monitoring of the animals to ensure their well being. |
